OCR: CLOSE Ask Dr. Ruth ADVICE FROM A 96-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN (See Virginity) I should like to communicate to all the single people. I've had as rich a life as anyone, serving in the Great War and living through the second working on the railroads. I've had many adventures and made many friends. Many of these were women and I still keep in touch with them although most are in nursing homes. Yet friends is all they ever were as I never had camal knowledge of any woman in my bng life, nor have lever been married or engaged. This has not been out of choice. I believe that at the age of 96 and in poor health that my time on Earth is short now and that my chance at love is long gone. It bothers me hear the glib assertions of experts that there is someone for everyone and that all one needs is time. Sometimes one runs out of time. There is no question that some people might not have the opportunity to find that one person but though in my profession I seem to talk about sex day and night, I fully admit that it is not the only important thing in the world. There are many ways of getting enjoyment out of life and it seems that you certainly did get your share. I also hope that through masturbation you didn't miss out on the pleasures of human sexuality altogether. O as
